Betty Casino in Ontario: Rules for Players

Betty Casino is legal in Ontario. The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario registers its operator, and iGaming Ontario lists it for casino and bingo. You must be 19 or older and physically inside Ontario each time you play. Ontario players get one extra that Alberta players do not: Betty Bingo.

Yes. Ontario opened a regulated market for private online casinos in 2022. Operators must register with the AGCO and sign an agreement with iGaming Ontario. Betty has done both and appears on the public list.

That list is the simplest proof. Our licence check guide shows how to find Betty’s entry in a few clicks.

How old do you have to be to play Betty in Ontario?

You must be 19 or older. Betty’s Terms and its responsible gaming page both state this. iGaming Ontario’s list repeats it: “19+. Must be physically located in Ontario to play.”

Betty checks your age during sign-up through your photo ID. There is no way to play first and verify later. See Betty sign-up and ID check.

The app stores label the Betty app 18+. That is the store’s own age category. The legal age in Ontario remains 19.

Do you have to be in Ontario to play?

Yes. What counts is where you are standing, not where you live. Betty checks your location before it opens a game.

Betty’s help centre spells out the edge cases. You cannot play outside Ontario even if:

What works when an Ontario player leaves the province

Play for real moneyBlocked until you return

So you can still cash out from a hotel in another province. You cannot spin. If Betty says you are outside Ontario when you are not, see Betty location errors and fixes.

We could not confirm what happens if an Ontario account holder travels to Alberta, where Betty is also licensed. Ask Betty support before you rely on it.

What can Ontario players use that Alberta players cannot?

Betty Bingo is only available in Ontario. It is a real-money, 75-ball game with scheduled sessions through the day. Betty’s help centre says it is offered “exclusively to players located in Ontario”.

iGaming Ontario lists Betty under both Casino and Bingo for this reason. The rules, schedule and return rate are in our Betty Bingo guide.

Everything else is the same core product: online slots. See what you can and can’t play at Betty.

What is BetGuard and how does it work with Betty?

BetGuard is iGaming Ontario’s central self-exclusion tool. One request blocks you from every regulated online gambling site in Ontario, including Betty. It is open to anyone 19 or older.

BetGuard is separate from Betty’s own self-exclusion. Betty’s tool blocks Betty only. BetGuard blocks them all.

If one site is the problem, use Betty’s tool. If gambling in general is the problem, use BetGuard.

Both are compared in Betty limits, timeouts and self-exclusion.

Where can Ontario players get gambling help?

How do you complain about Betty in Ontario?

Start with Betty, then escalate if you need to. The Terms set out the path.

  1. Raise the problem with support by live chat or at [email protected].
  2. If that fails, send a formal complaint to [email protected]. Do it as soon as you reasonably can.
  3. Betty aims to resolve complaints within 14 days. The limit is 90 days.
  4. If it stays unresolved, the Terms say the dispute goes to iGaming Ontario.

Keep dates, amounts and screenshots. They make each step faster. The full process is in Betty customer service and complaints.

Why can’t Ontario review sites show Betty’s bonuses?

Ontario’s rules stop it. The AGCO’s Standard 2.05 bans advertising of gambling “inducements, bonuses and credits” except on the operator’s own site, or in direct messages you have agreed to receive.

An independent guide is neither of those. So this site explains how promotions work without listing offers. You can see current ones on betty.ca after you opt in. More in how Betty promotions work.
